I have cared for many animals since childhood, including dogs, cats, rabbits,
rodents, birds, horses, and fish. As a child I wanted to be a veterinarian. Instead, I became a police officer, a chamber
of commerce executive, and a bed and breakfast owner. Throughout my various careers, I always maintained a love of animals
and after returning to, and retiring (sort of) in the Laguna area of Elk Grove, I decided to begin a pet sitting career (with,
of course, the approval of my husband, Al; our rat terrier, Teddy; our cockatiel, Andy; and our bunny, Frankie.)
Another one of my avid interests is plants. Al complains about Diane's "green jungle." Although we live in a condominium
in the Valley Hi area, our atrium and patio are filled with happy, thriving potted plants of all species. I also enjoy photography
and golf. Family now includes husband, Al, four sons, three daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, and, of course, our bichon
Candi, 2 bunnies, and 4 cockatiels.
My background in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff and a police officer for
18 years, my love and knowledge of animals, and a "green thumb" give me special qualifications for the unique job
of pet sitting.
The primary goal of Pet Sitting by Diane is to give your pet the care, love, and attention they
need while you must be away. Pets do not like to have their routine and environment changed and they thrive at home. Their
need for affection and companionship is as important as their need for food, water, exercise and medication. I am committed
to provide all of this.
The secondary goal is to take care of your home while you are gone. Your plants will be
watered and cared for, and your home will have that "lived in" look with mail and newspapers taken in, lights turned
on or off, and trash taken in or out.
I am bonded, insured, and licensed for your peace of mind and I have chosen
to specialize in serving the Laguna/Elk Grove area so I can give the most efficient service to my neighbors. I do not have
employees so you will always know who is caring for your pet and your home while you are away.
My telephone hours
are 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. As I will be out visiting clients, I will not always be available to answer the phone but leave
a message and I will return your call promptly.
